India’s electric vehicle market is buzzing with innovation, and Mahindra is stepping up in a big way. The homegrown automaker has just unveiled two futuristic EV models — the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e . Unlike many current offerings that tend to blend together, these new additions stand out with their bold, tech-forward designs and advanced features that truly feel ahead of their time.
In fact, both products are pure electric products, while BE and XEV represent their respective product lines, among which XEV 9e is positioned higher than BE 6 E. In addition, from the design of the two products, the same as the concept car released in 2022, the whole car is full of sharp body lines, making them look very technological.
Looking at the products specifically, the BE 6e, as an entry-level model, has become more radical and sporty in terms of design details, with a more exaggerated front face and lighting design. It is obvious that this is also a product that focuses on young people and sports.
The styling of the rear is also sporty. Since the car adopts the current mainstream fastback design, the entire rear looks very solid. The shape of the taillight group echoes the front daytime running light group, and is equipped with a two-stage rear wing and bottom diffuser, giving the entire car a good recognition.
In terms of interior, the overall design of the car is also sporty. It can be seen that the driver’s position also adopts a surround design, and is equipped with a dual 12.3-inch screen design.
The control buttons are set below the center console.
The shape of the gear shift knob is also very unique.
In addition, there are two rear entertainment screens behind the front seats, which are probably optional. It is expected that the corresponding screen interface will be reserved like the current mainstream products.
As for the Mahindra XEV 9e, it is more oriented towards home use. In comparison, the overall design is more in line with the current mainstream new energy products. For example, the new car also uses a fully enclosed front grille, and is equipped with a through-type LED headlight group, split headlight group and other designs.
In addition, this version is also equipped with a relatively large front trunk.

In terms of interior, the style of the car has also changed. For example, the new car also adopts a T-shaped layout, and is equipped with a through-screen composed of three screens, a panoramic roof with light, and a Harman Kardon sound system with 16 speakers. The other two products will be equipped with the sixth-generation Adreno GPU and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip.
The performance of the rear seats is average, without many outstanding highlights, and we can also see that there is a socket for expanded screens behind the seats.
As for the hardware, these two products are also built on the INGLO electric architecture, and also adopt a single-motor rear-wheel drive layout, and are equipped with semi-active shock absorbers, five-link rear suspension and wire-controlled brake technology. In terms of motor parameters, these two products are available with 170kW and 210kW motors, and the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 6.7-6.8s. The overall performance is average, which is still different from the domestic first-line new energy products.
In terms of battery, the car offers 59kWh and 79kWh LFP batteries. The maximum range of the two products is 533km and 550km respectively, and the fast charging time from 20% to 80% is 20 minutes.
Is Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6E Worth Buying? Let’s Break It Down
When it comes to India’s growing range of electric vehicles, there’s definitely progress — especially in terms of design. The new Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e are good examples of that. While we may still be catching up to global players like China when it comes to hardware and overall performance, these EVs seem well-equipped for our daily commuting needs.
As per the latest info, the BE 6e is expected to start at ₹18.9 lakh (around ₹1.6 lakh CNY), while the XEV 9e is likely to be priced at ₹21.9 lakh (roughly ₹1.88 lakh CNY).
So, is it worth buying? If your priority is a stylish, future-ready EV for city driving and regular use — and you’re okay with not having top-of-the-line specs — these could be smart options to consider.
